Christopher Groesbeck

Mr. Groesbeck is the co-founder of JH, and is also the company's chief designer. He has 38 years of professional design experience, especially in office buildings, mixed-use buildings, and urban design. Chris is also a professor in the Department of Architecture at Illinois Institute of Technology. His work in professional works and in academic field focuses on the future development of the city.

Mr. Groesbeck has won many national architectural awards in United States. The Roosevelt University in downtown Chicago, designed by him, has not only become a Chicago landmark, but also won several design awards with its advanced sustainable design concepts and special façade design. In addition, Mr. Groesbeck has a good understanding of Chinese local culture and market demand. The new material technology research and development center in Beijing, includes offices, residences, research and development spaces, and conference centers, integrates traditional temples and courtyard spaces in residential buildings, and at the same time integrates modern design element. He is the chief designer of the Renaissance Hotel in Shanghai Putuo, which is the dynamic core of a 500,000-square-meter large urban complex including hotel, office, commercial and high-end residential areas.

Chris worked as a design director at Pei Cobb Freed & Partners in New York (previously: IM Pei & Partners), during which time he participated in the design of the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong, the Albuquerque Base Station in the United States, and Deublin's in Frankfurt.
